Minors face several alcohol-related charges after throwing party

Pennsylvania residents are probably aware that it is illegal for someone under the age of 21 to purchase or consume alcohol. The Pennsylvania State Police recently made three arrests as a result of a party where several minors were drinking.

The party allegedly took place in a field near the Lemon Township and Tunkhannock line. Around 20 minors were present, many of whom are suspected of underage drinking. Two 18-year-olds were arrested and charged with several alcohol-related charges including corruption of minors, furnishing brewed beverages to minors, tampering with physical evidence and purchase, consumption, possession, and transportation of brewed beverages as minors.

One of the individuals being charged allegedly invited most of the guests. Guests report that when they arrived the charged party had a bag of marijuana and a bag of psychedelic mushrooms. The other 18-year-old male who was charged reportedly provided the beer to the minors. When questioned about how he obtained the alcohol he reported that he got it from his mom.

The 47-year-old mother has reported to police that her son gave her cash that she used to buy him several cases of beer. She stated that she assumed he would consume the beer with friends while fishing. The mother is also facing charges for corruption of minors and furnishing brewed beverages to minors.

A 17-year-old attending the party was reportedly involved in an UTV accident at the event. After the incident the two 18-year-old males tossed the remaining beer into a fire and nearby woods and brought the UTV home. The teenager involved in the accident later died from his injuries.
