Pennsylvania man faces another DUI charge

Many people in Pennsylvania face DUI charges each year. In an attempt to cut down on drunken driving, the Pennsylvania legislature has enacted strict DUI laws. The penalties for a DUI conviction have increased and those with multiple DUI offenses potentially face even more serious penalties. Despite the strict laws and increased penalties, however, those charged with a DUI still have certain rights following an arrest. The prosecution also still must prove that they were driving under the influence beyond a reasonable doubt before convicting the person.

Teen faces weapons charges after incident with an airsoft gun

Many people in Philadelphia can remember having a BB gun or airsoft gun as a child. Target practice with the guns out in the country can be a fun activity. However, shooting the guns around people could result in serious weapons charges, as if it were a gun with actual bullets. They are considered firearms and possession of a firearm by a minor is not taken lightly. What may seem like innocent fun, could result in penalties that follow a minor for a long time.

Two men arrested outside of Philadelphia on drug charges

The Pennsylvania legislature has enacted laws creating harsh penalties for people convicted of drug charges. Police try to curb drug distribution and drug trafficking through drug busts and prosecutors fight hard to get drug convictions. However, drugs are still very prevalent in the Philadelphia area. This fact does not stop the police from arresting people or the prosecutors from seeking convictions for various drug offenses though.

Philadelphia police sergeant charged with multiple offenses

Every Philadelphia resident is subject to the laws of the state of Pennsylvania. This includes elected officials, police officers and everyone else. No one is exempt and there are no exceptions. And just like every resident is subject to the laws of Pennsylvania, every person charged with a crime has the same constitutional rights and protections as well.
